I am now working regularly with pen&ink/pen &
wash. It is a wonderful, immediate way to
grasp the subject, and one quite in contrast to my regular
method of working with oils.
Here is one such drawing 'Interior Scene'
, and another 'Shoe cupboard'
. Both of these are done with pen. While 'Sanjay Sleeping ' is done
in quick washes and some scribbles of the pen.
"Yellow Flowers"
is a burst of brightness and joy, done in watercolour. This was a very
enjoyable exercise indeed.
This
is a still of flowers in a dark vase.
I painted this still of a kettle in oil as well as watercolour .The
oil can be seen in the Still-life gallery.
"Asters in glass'
is an exciting painting where I have loosely painted the flowers, and
the reflection of the glass .I have also tried to capture nuances in
the
water. 'Apples'
is a colourful painting, where I have underplayed the colours and texture
of the cloth to give prominence to the fruit.
' Oranges on striped durry' is a warm painting, mainly in yellows
and oranges. 'Brinjals in bowl'
is a painting I have enjoyed making. The natural curves of the vegetable
make interesting negative shapes in the background.
