A view from my balcony is " Greenery" , which is a
mass of innumerable greens,
always such a joy and challenge to portray. To offset these organic
shapes, I introduced a section of the tiny temple, with its warm yellow
stone. This is oil on canvas.
This is a market-scene, " Clothes Bazaar" ,
which is a bustling street here in
Ahmedabad, with hawkers piling up their wares on the roadside,
and shouting a continuous litany to lure customers. This is an oil on
canvas.
And here's a woman doing her washing.
' Fields with clouds'
is a painting of the fields that I see in front of my house. The tremendous
changes they undergo with the passing seasons prompts me to repeatedly
paint them.
'Road to Shela'
was inspired by the arched pathway the trees made, and the sun
trickling through the mass of trees.
This work
is a scene from the old parts of the city characterized by narrow streets
and old buildings.
"Street Scene,Ahmedabad"
is also based on the bustle of the market in these narrow lanes. This
is a picture limited to a few colours.
