Teaching at NYU, that's exciting!!
I am slated to teach two courses this coming fall at NYU: Information Architecture, and Weblogs & Wikis. I am really really excited about this. I am sure this experience will invigorate my own thinking in these areas. Check out these courses here:
I am first a web entrepreneur, having just launched the beta version of FoundIt. We have several
exciting plans for this application, that will be particularly useful to students, researchers, the average office worker, & anyone else who is
dealing with a huge volume of personal information on their computers. So check it out, & help us shape FoundIt by sending us your feedback.
I am also helping with general management of operations of DecisionCraft Inc., a company founded
by my brilliant & energetic husband Ravi. DecisionCraft is doing very exciting work in data analytics, helping to extract valuable & actionable insights
from data. AMAP (Audience Measurement & Analytics Pvt Ltd) is another project that Ravi heads as Managing Director.
AMAP offers India's, in fact Asia's, first overnight TV rating service, with reports being made available to subscribers online; this is in contrast with
existing audience measurement services in India, that offer this information after a week!
I am also a consultant in matters of information architecture & user experience design & am also a visiting faculty in Information Architecture
at New York University. Check out some of my work here.
I love traveling & spending time with my best friend & husband, Ravi. For the last couple of years we have had these amazing plans to travel
to Egypt, Turkey, Cyprus, we hope we can make that happen in 2007. We are very proud of our son Sanjay, who is certainly taking after us both:
he has quite a mind of his own! His passions are math & physics, interests & pursuits that neither of our families has displayed for the last
few generations. But hey, we love that he is thinking about equations & stuff than some of the mind-numbingly boring things some youngsters
like to do these days.
Aside from my professional interests, I love sketching & am trying my hand at comics. I have painted for several years, take a look at some of my paintings. I love, absolutely love to read, listen to jazz on
internet radio, enjoy cooking, & much more.
