I am a professional artist, and my work encompasses traditional media as well as new, digital media.Each offers me a unique way to portray what I need to say about life around me .I must admit that for the last 3 years or so, digital media has dominated my time & energies, providing tremendous challenges and vital insights into the possibilities these new media afford the artist today.And while not a day has passed when I do not miss my canvas & brushes, the smell of turpentine & oils, and the sensual pleasure of sloshing rich pigments about, I am the richer for new media!!

In order to understand these new technologies in a deeper way, I decided to study these formally, & have now been accepted into New York University.This Masters program will help me push the envelope as regards what artists can do with new media .I look forward to learning & contributing to this world-class new media program, & hope to produce richer, more expressive works of my own in the years to come.

Here, I have to mention the two people without whose love and support none of this would have been possible. They are Ravi, my husband, and Sanjay, our 19-year old son.
