Finally.....
So finally I have put together this blog to pencil in, or rather key in my thoughts on design & technology & life, & all that falls in between & around!!
It has been a relatively relaxed time these past two weeks especially after the breakneck pace of graduate school these past two years. I still can't believe that there are no more projects & assignments to worry about, that I have the luxury of doing nothing but laze around if I wish, that I can amble along endlessly in New York without looking at the time. And most important, sleep till late in the morning. This is delicious!!
So yes, it was a hectic pace, and I am gradually waking up to the fact that one phase of life is over, & it's now onto another one: work life. Oddly enough, I am really looking forward to that; I am looking for a meaty, exciting platform to develop design solutions, be it in the web applications area or mobile.I am in the midst of a series of interviews, & am seriously hoping for something to work out soon!!
In the meantime, I have had fun with my family these past two weeks: long walks, longer chats, good food, movies, commencement ceremonies at NYU; not unexpectedly, I am feeling rather sentimental about my school ( ITP at Tisch, NYU), and about New York. I am going to miss the cobbled streets around campus, the deli where I bought my tea every afternoon, the Afghani vendors with their street-side carts who invariably asked me if I spoke urdu or hindi, who effused about India, and who treated me to a complimentary bagel & cheese simply because of the shared histories. I'll miss the gym, the scores of friends I have around campus & near home; let me just stop here before it gets too mushy....
But it is a good reminder to savor New York over the next few days, to photograph the most-loved parts of the city, and to take in the museums that I haven't been able to these past two years: all of them. I'll share these pictures here as & when I take them: I'd especially like to capture the varied architecture in the city.
